Hello, and welcome to the Inter-Varsity Folk Dance Festival 2010, more commonly known as IVFDF. This year we are proud to welcome you to Durham. It took place 5th-7th of March 2010 and hopefully everyone agrees that it was fun-filled weekend.

Have a look round the website to find out who performed as well as information about IVFDF and more about the North East. Any questions? Feel free to drop us an email.

We've also posted up some dance events in the local area in the next few weeks, and a few ceilidh's and dances people might be interested in in the future months.

Lost property and T-shirts

All lost property has now been posted back, so if your still missing something, we're sorry but we don't have it.

T-shirts are still on order, we apologise for the delay, but they are on their way!

Charity Ceilidh

Stomp and Oompah Brass     |  Saturday 27th March: 7pm -     |   Hammersmith, S London

I’m helping a friend to organize a ceilidh on March 27th to raise funds for Breast Cancer Haven, which helped her when she had cancer.

I’m helping with publicity, running a raffle and organizing stewarding. Would you be interested in joining me, stewarding & selling raffle tickets?

The ceilidh’s at the Irish Cultural Centre in Blacks Road, Hammersmith from 7pm on Saturday, March 27th. There’ll be two bands, Stomp and Oompah Brass and there’ll be opportunities for you to dance if you want to.

It would also be brilliant if you could tell all your friends about the ceilidh (I can send you some flyers) and if any of them wants to help with stewarding that’d be great too.

Cajun Dance

The Bearcats     |  Friday 19th March: 7:30pm -     |   Eltham, S London

                 Chris Hall – Accordion, vocals,
           Mitch Proctor – fiddle
             Sam Murray – drums,
      Murray Brailsford – guitar

                               Doors 7.30pm   |   £10.00

We would like to encourage new people to come to the Cajunbarn and at the same time make our regulars very happy, so we have a special offer for you.  If you bring a new person to The Bearcats on Friday 19th March you will get in for half price. It gets better: if you bring two new people you will get in for free! The new people will pay the usual £10, but you will get in for £5 with one new person, or for free if you bring two (or more)! You don’t need to pre book, just turn up, let us know on the door. It’s as simple as that.

Finally a request from the Tudor Barn – as The Tudor Barn is licensed premises with a bar/restaurant, please do not bring food and drink in with you – many thanks. Talking of food, there is a good restaurant/ bistro on the ground floor which serves up tasty snacks and meals: a lot of people who tried it said the food was good.

Thank You!

Thanks for a great weekend!

Hope you've all made it home safely, we would especially like to thank all the stewards for doing such a great job over the weekend.

The committee and the folk society are now sat in Ffion's house eating pizza and drinking beer/gin/port!

We will put a lost property list up later on, see you in Bristol!
